Wayside House of Hamilton is an addiction treatment center for men. They needed a refreshed website that would better showcase their programs, blog, annual fundraising events, and provide referral and admissions information. Additionally, we built a portal to streamline their referral process. The organization emphasizes evidence and science-based strategies while maintaining a human, relatable, and inviting atmosphere.
Working with my team at Fifty and collaborating closely with the copywriter, we began by conducting a detailed architecture review to fully understand the referral process for the portal. This ensured that we captured all necessary information and functionality requirements. The site cleanup involved organizing the extensive information in a clear and accessible manner, enhancing usability and navigation for visitors.
We devoted significant time to finding the right stock photos, focusing on candid and natural images that aligned with the inviting and human aspect of Wayside House. These photos were chosen to create a welcoming atmosphere, helping visitors feel more connected and comfortable with the site.
Throughout the project, we maintained close communication with Wayside House to ensure their vision and requirements were met. By integrating their evidence and science-based approach with a warm and relatable design, we successfully created a website that both informs and engages their audience. The new portal significantly improved the referral process, making it more efficient and user-friendly.
This comprehensive approach not only updated the website's aesthetics but also enhanced its functionality, ultimately contributing to a more effective online presence for Wayside House of Hamilton.
